MIU MIU SPRING/SUMMER 2027
For the Spring/Summer 2027 Miu Miu collection by Miuccia Prada, a fundamental recontextualization comes from elements of beauty, refinement and elegance, applied to the clothing items that define a quotidian wardrobe of now. It emblematizes a process of heightening, elevation, improvement. An ambition to do better.
The mixes of pieces that comprise normal everyday dress today - sportswear, knitwear, leather, vintage pieces - alongside the sincere and considered elegance of classicism. The tailored suit, the chemisier, embroidered evening dresses. Oppositional pieces are laid alongside one another in intentional and nonconformist dialogues, exploring a form of friction and tension. Then they cross-pollinate, familiar items cultivated, heightened and transformed. A liminal space of dressing is discovered, between these polarities of meaning, eroding divisions.
Suede is laminated with wax to crack and age, creases intentionally. Gestures of crossed lacing replace fastenings, simultaneously decorative and functional, allowing clothes to shift on the body, changing denim, pleated skirts, cocktail dresses, shoes. Evening satin and gauze mix with metal, crushed with a permanence and intention as a form of decoration.
Reusing, rethinking, reconsidering evident ideas. Geometric prints recall Miu Miu antecedents, and wider popular cultural reference. Elemental deconstruction - performance sports pieces in jersey become abbreviated tops worn over or under, bows of silk appear alone, against open skin. Embroidered fragments migrate to sportswear-shaped pieces. Each outfit becomes an inherent contrast, of different Miu Miu information, and the wider clothing language of now.
A notion of return and reconsideration extends to the scenography of the Spring/Summer 2027 show. It will form the physical base for Geste de Consolation (Gesture of Consolation), a major interdisciplinary project created by the French filmmaker Alice Diop to be presented as part of Art Basel Paris 2026.
WRANGLER® X MIU MIU
Miu Miu Upcycled collaborates with Wrangler to devise reworked pieces in heritage denim, featured on the Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2027 runway. Original examples of archetypical jeans styles from the end of the twentieth century, sourced by vintage specialists, are transformed, with a collection signature of crossed lacing. It reflects Miu Miu’s ongoing commitment to circular design.
NEW BALANCE X MIU MIU RC150
In the fifth year of their collaboration, the Spring/Summer 2027 runway show New Balance and Miu Miu introduce a reconstruction of the RC150 racing sneaker, its name drawn from its lightweight 150-gram design. Deconstructed in technical mesh, the model features contrast laces loosely knotted at the toe through external loops, in color palettes that reflect sophisticated and elegant hues and sports brights.
