Showspace
MIU MIU JOCKEY CLUB

For the MiuMiu Club 2020, AMO reexamines the Parisian Hippodrome d’Auteuil situated along the border of the Bois de Boulogne—a venue that has since 1873 hosted some of the most celebrated French tournaments—to stage a series of events culminating in a fashion show, a horse race and an exclusive party.

A new wooden volume that pertains the visual codes of the hippodrome is inserted as part of the existing grand tribune, providing a large balcony that serves as catwalk and observation deck. Models walk along the linear tribune, contrasting with the vast grass field of the racetrack that extends to the border of the city, illuminated by a warm Parisian sunset.

Emphasising and celebrating the tradition of the venue, the Miu Miu Jockey Club began with a race, preceding the Croisière 2020 fashion show. Afterwards an exclusive dinner and party followed, underscoring the notion of racing as a social as well as sporting experience. These events occupied a number of spaces within the Hippodrome, from ‘Salon’ to ‘Lobby’, devised as bold reinterpretation of the building’s existing 1970s interiors.
