“A FASHION SHOW IS AN ALPHABETICAL COLLECTION OF BEHAVIORS”
Miu Miu collections are very complex creative ecosystems embedded with sophisticated and strong messages. They allow the women wearing them to express their own personal feelings.
Miu Miu collections have always explored the language of a very peculiar, outspoken and independent femininity. The Miu Miu girl has convictions and beliefs; her wardrobe is a kind of alphabetical system, a language for expressing and defining herself within a community.
This is the modernity and strength of Miu Miu: instead of imposing a message, it offers girls the chance to embody a variety of characters through the clothes.
“In the Perret building, instead of being enclosed within an immersive world, we wanted the Miu Miu show to feel more fluid and in dialogue with the city of Paris.
This season, instead of confining the Miu Miu show to an architectural folly, we decided to amplify it by using an installation only composed of black and white signs, symbols and indexes.”
This visual yet spatial installation is constructed with just two kinds of basic elements. Standard street signs are printed with large letters from M/M’s alphabetical archive and simple wooden stools are stacked sporadically throughout the building.
Two endless banners hang above the audience. One bears the title of the installation “The Miu Miu Type, An ABC of Actions, Behaviors and Comportments”, while the other displays the complete collection of Miu Miu type letters drawn in conjunction with the Miu Miu 2018 Fall/Winter collection.
We are bringing back the expressive and spontaneous quality of Miu Miu by introducing a new Miu Miu “language”, its own behavioral propaganda.
